PLI will continue to offer its location assessment and inward investment services to corporate and government clients around the world, drawing on the combined PwC Consulting and IBM worldwide
competence and resource network.
PLI’s range of services will still be concentrated around five key service lines – corporate location and corporate real estate strategies, inward investment and regional development and infrastructure developments such as ports and airports.
The consultancy has also developed new services such as cluster development and software-based marketing tools. The tool allows investment promotion agencies (IPAs) to evaluate their competitive strengths for specific projects in comparison with other competing locations.
Roel Spee, director of PLI, said the strength of the software was that it could be used interactively between IPAs and investors challenging them to indicate their project assumptions, needs and competing locations.
“Our recent clients that we developed this tool for have informed us that they won projects as a result of using such tools,” said Mr Spee.
So far, four agencies are working with a model developed by PLI, two in Europe, one in Australia and one in the US.
